One productive day! (Finally!!!)

Have you ever had one of those days when a ton of stuff just falls into place?  Well we had one of those days yesterday.  It’s funny when you take the next step in a journey, that God starts doing some really cool things to allow the following steps to be taken.

It began with a call from our pastor to follow up with a date to announce to the entire church congregation that God has called our family to the mission field in Costa Rica.  We scheduled it for Sunday May 4th at the end of both services.  We are really excited about taking this next step.  Please pray for us because this means that Allen will need to tell his office what our plans are sometime next week.  The reason I will have to tell them before we fully raise our funds, is because, there are quite a few people who are involved with my office that also attend our church.

The next thing that happened was that we went to open a new bank account for our ministry funds and the girl that helped us was Costa Rican (A Tico).  It was really fun to share our vision and excitement with her.  This step will enable us to get the e-giving set up on our website.  Hopefully it will be functional by next week.

We then went to church and got to talk with our missions pastor, who gave us contact information for a couple in our church, who had been missionaries to Mexico city for 20 something years.  After the service, we just happened to run into this couple and found out that they are friends with Bob, who runs the goat farm near San Jose, Costa Rica (This is where Allen got to go on the mission trip back in July 2007).  What a small world.  We are going to meet with them sometime in the next week and hear about their experiences on the mission field and try and gain as much wisdom from them as possible.  The funny thing is that they were about our age when they went to mexico, and they also had three kids.

When we got home from church, we checked the mail and all three of our kids passports had come in.  It took less than 2 weeks.  That is unbelievable considering that last year Allen turned in his application 4 months in advance and he still had to drive from Tallahassee to New Orleans the day before he left for Costa Rica to pick up his passport.  God is so good!!!!

We went to bed in awe of God and his provision.  To others these may seem like small things, but to us, these things are very encouraging and affirming in our journey (which sometimes seems slower than other times).

“The steps of good men are directed by the Lord.  He delights in each step they take.”  Psalm 37:23 LB
